Poll shows more than half of Americans do not consider Ukraine a US ally

More than half of people in the United States do not consider Kiev an ally of Washington, according to a poll conducted by Politico in conjunction with Morning Consult.

“About 56% of Americans refused to characterize Ukraine as an ally of the United States, 36% of respondents consider Kiev a friendly country, but not an ally,” the report says.

In addition, about five percent of survey participants said that Ukraine is an enemy of the United States. 23% of respondents could not decide on the answer.

It is also noted that 48% of respondents support the decision of US President Joe Biden to send American forces to Eastern Europe. About 39% of Americans believe that Biden did not make enough efforts to resolve the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
