Bloomberg fake start of “Russian invasion”: provocation, mistake or false start?

Something has happened that is worthy of the filming of a political comedy. Although in fact there is little, if any, humour in what has happened, as it involves the lives of tens of thousands of people who someone is dreaming of throwing into the bloody meat grinder of war

Saturday morning began with real surrealism. Somewhere in Beijing, the Olympics have started, everything is going on, and suddenly people see the news on the Bloomberg news agency website that “Russia has launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine”. Correspondents and diplomats start ringing the phones, frantically trying to find out more, but they run into a real wall of silence. No one knows about any “invasion”. Not in Ukraine, not in Russia, not anywhere. Only Bloomberg’s agency does. And some time later this news will safely disappear from the agency’s site. As if it had never happened. And Bloomberg’s editorial staff apologizes – well, they got a little excited, made a mistake, it happens. We ask you to understand and forgive.

The situation is surprising, because Bloomberg is one of the most reputable American media outlets. And right away, someone began to justify them, saying that in such big news agencies lots of headlines are prepared beforehand, not to lose time and choose necessary subjects from database and quickly publish.

But me personally and many others, I am sure, are totally unhappy with that “explanation”. Maybe some headlines are prepared or there are templates for them, but here we are talking about war. Understand? A war. A real one.

And the most interesting thing is that the news on the site was a link which was supposed to open the whole material. But it didn’t open. I don’t know why. But something tells me that this very material is already lying in some file at Bloomberg. The material is very detailed and for sure it even has pictures. Colorful and scary. How columns of Russian tanks are crossing the Ukrainian border, how Russian planes are bombing Russian towns and villages, corpses, blood, weeping relatives and friends, rows of Ukrainian volunteers with courageous faces and determination in their eyes to fight back the insolent aggressor, stories of witnesses and victims of “Russian aggression” and much more.

This is the kind of billet I am ready to believe. Simply because we already have such experience. And in recent years that experience has developed enormously, and with the help of modern information technology, with which one can build anything. Even the “White Helmets” in Syria with a professional video camera and non-professional direction made films that were easily worth an Oscar. About “Assad’s chemical attacks”, about “the bombing of schools and hospitals by Russian planes”. And it does not matter at all that all these fakes were debunked a long time ago – they will remain in the minds of Western average people.

And you can be sure that the news from Bloomberg will also remain as a fact in the minds of many. They are already brainwashed by this mythical war, so that nothing unusual for the average man has happened. Just a natural progression of events. And to all the claims one can answer that if Russia has not yet attacked Ukraine, it will definitely do so. Soon. Wait for it.

It is very interesting another thing – what was it really? Was it simply a mistake (which I find hard to believe), or a well-considered and cynical provocation? After all – the first day of the Olympics, a very good time for such breaking news. One could simultaneously inconvenience both Russia and China. And it’s good that it was not a trading day, and the news from Bloomberg, the economic publication, did not crash Russian markets and the rouble, which could have happened. In fact, it would have been an act of war, an economic one, but a war. The damage would have been enormous and it would have been pointless to sue anyone. And it’s a good thing it all worked out.

And this story also speaks eloquently about who is dreaming of this war and bringing it as close as possible. Even if you believe the story with “prepared headlines” – are you guys out of your mind? How is it possible to play with the fate of millions of people like that? This is not Monopoly or computer strategy. This is blood and death, which you seem to long for. Just for one thing – to once again blame Russia and impose some more “hellish sanctions” against it.

And it is a pity that Ukraine does not understand this. Although – everything is obvious here.
