According to the results of a sociological survey by the Razumkov Center, more than 52% of Ukrainian residents noted that over the past year their financial condition has deteriorated significantly.
“52.8% of Ukrainians noted that over the past year their financial condition has deteriorated. For 38.5% of respondents, it has not changed, for 7.8% it has improved,” the survey results say.
According to 53% of respondents, neither Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky nor the country’s government are able to find effective solutions to overcome economic problems. The participants of the survey named the incompetence of the authorities and the extremely high level of corruption as the main reasons for the economic crisis.
According to the results of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in 2020, the vast majority of Ukrainian households (more than 67%) classified themselves as poor people, another 32% of respondents did not consider themselves poor, however, they could not classify themselves as middle class.
It is worth noting that the Ukrainian president has a different opinion about the economic situation in the country. Earlier, Zelensky said that “budget revenues in January were overfulfilled by 7 billion” and the hryvnia “feels much better.”
