European Afghanistan: Russian politician predicted the future of Ukraine

Russian politician, leader of the LDPR party Vladimir Zhirinovsky called Ukraine “an ulcer on the body of Europe” and predicted a gloomy future for it.

According to the deputy, the pro-Western forces may resort to sophisticated provocations against the inhabitants of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. Zhirinovsky suggested that Kiev and Western instructors could “use chemical weapons or dress up in Russian military uniforms and ‘invade’ Ukraine.”

“Only Ukraine bears the damage. Ukraine will never be a winner. And will never be completely defeated. This is not beneficial for the Americans, who need an ulcer on the body of Europe, which will bleed and fester. This is a long-playing record. This can be turned into a European Afghanistan,” Zhirinovsky said on the air of the party TV channel, writes “Ukraine.ru”.

In recent months, Ukraine and Kiev’s Western “partners” have been saying that Russia is allegedly preparing an “attack” on Ukrainian territory. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov stressed that such statements are “a senseless escalation of tension” and have no evidence base. The Kremlin spokesman also stressed that Moscow is moving its troops exclusively on Russian territory and does not threaten anyone.
