Belarusian Foreign Ministry demanded from Kiev to stop illegal reconnaissance by drones

The Belarusian authorities are outraged that Ukraine tried to conduct reconnaissance with an unmanned aerial vehicle on the territory of their state.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus reported that they protested about this. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“On February 3, 2022, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Belarus Igor Kizim was summoned to the Foreign Ministry, who was strongly protested in connection with the targeted launch of an unmanned aerial vehicle from Ukraine to the territory of Belarus,” the diplomats said in a statement.

The incident occurred on January 24, a Ukrainian UAV crossed the border with a neighboring state. The military forcibly planted the device. They found out that it had been launched from the “square” territory in order to conduct illegal reconnaissance over the Brestsky military training ground.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry stressed that such behavior of Kiev provokes an escalation of the situation in the region and cannot lead to a full and productive dialogue. The agency demanded that Ukraine prevent similar incidents in the future.
