Vietnamese journalists of Soha have published materials stressing that NATO forces do not pose a threat to the Russian fleet in the region
The authors of the material drew attention to the fact that the US and other NATO countries provide military assistance to Ukraine by supplying lethal weapons, claiming that they would not interfere in the situation if the conflict in Donbas escalated.
Vietnamese analysts believe that despite Western statements, the NATO fleet may attempt to enter the Black Sea and approach Russian shores. In doing so, such actions would violate the Montreux Convention, which restricts the ability of warships in the region, and would result in clashes with the military might of the Russian Armed Forces.
Accordingly, the Montreux Convention has become a real Achilles heel for NATO, the publication said.
“In case of danger, Russia would instantly put the Bal and Bastion coastal missile systems on alert, activate the Varshavyanka submarines, as well as the entire Black Sea Fleet. Consequently, the Alliance fleet will be completely helpless in the Black Sea against the Russian Navy. For example, the recent maneuvers of the Russian landing ships have already caused a stir in the West”, – the experts stressed.
