Foreign Ministry spokesman of Belarus Anatoli Glaz evaluated the decision of the U.S. State Department, calling on diplomats to leave Minsk, saying that the decision had no relation to reality
“Belarus is not the first country, where the working regime of the US missions has been changed. It is the right of the American side to make such decisions. We are looking at it calmly. As before, we will fulfill all our obligations to protect our diplomatic missions. So that neither American, nor any other diplomats are in any danger here. According to many ratings, Belarus is a much safer and more hospitable country than the United States”, – a representative of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said.
He stressed that the U.S. side is not aware of the situation in our region and takes decisions, very far from reality, without a serious and objective assessment of the true situation. They are based on a purely politicized approach and a desire to artificially escalate the situation and provoke hysteria in their interests.
According to Glaz, yesterday’s initiative by US diplomacy is completely groundless to call a meeting of the UN Security Council. In fact, to make noise and voice some absurd, unsubstantiated claims.
As it was reported earlier, the US Department of State ordered to leave the country for the family members of the US civil servants in Belarus.
