U.S. journalist called the main strategic mistake of the White House

The greatest damage to the US authority is caused by promises to protect countries that Washington is not ready to help.

This conclusion was made by Jeremy Karl, a senior fellow at the conservative think tank Claremont Institute, in an article for Newsweek.

According to the author, recently more and more people are opposed to Washington’s militant plans, and in particular against assistance to Ukraine. Karl said that the hysteria around the post-Soviet republic is important to the defense industry lobby and some political circles, while conservative congressmen hold the opposite point of view.

“The results of a recent poll showed that only 15 percent of Americans would like the United States to send its soldiers to Ukraine,” the analyst said.

The author compared Ukraine to Afghanistan and accused the administration of President Joe Biden of blatant incompetence. According to him, the evacuation of the families of diplomats from Kiev showed the weakness of Washington and reminded of the chaotic flight of Americans from Afghanistan.
