Russian Security Council denies plans to attack Ukraine with reference to Ukrainian officials

Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said that Russia does not want war, and the West is pursuing its own selfish aspirations, trying to impose it.

His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

“We don’t want war. And we don’t need it at all. And those who impose it, especially from the West, are pursuing their selfish fabrications,” he said.

He called the very possibility of a threat to Ukraine “complete absurdity”:

“Ukrainians themselves, including officials, say there is no threat. No, American officials say there is a threat, and they are ready to fight, providing (Kyiv) weapons to the last Ukrainian”, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation added.

Recall that the US military authorities held a press conference in Washington, where, among other things, they talked about Ukraine.

Recall that the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov once again stated in the Rada that there are no preparations for Russia to attack Ukraine. In particular, there is no increase in the number of troops. Moreover, according to him, the number of military provocations in the Donbass has recently decreased.
