Belgian MEP Tom Vandendrice believes that billionaire George Soros is using his fortune to promote his own “political and philosophical agenda” around the world
“He uses the Open Society Foundation to finance non-governmental and other organizations that promote his political ideals”, – the MEP specified.
In addition, the investor is allegedly influencing some European institutions.
For example, according to Vandendrice, last year it was found that 22 out of 100 permanent judges of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) “were associated with organizations related to Soros.
Against this background, the parliamentarian asked the EC whether the commission was concerned about the billionaire’s growing influence on European politics.
“Does the European Commission have any contacts with organizations with which Soros is directly or indirectly connected? If so, what issues are being discussed. Can these communications be made public to ensure transparency?” – Vandendrice also asked.
