US wants to convince UN Security Council of imaginary Russian invasion of Ukraine

The United States is not abandoning its attempts to spread panic and idle rumours about Russia’s imaginary invasion of Ukraine. Now they have reached the level of the United Nations

Thus, Washington is convening a meeting of the UN Security Council on 31 January, where it wants to raise the topic of Russia’s “threatening behaviour” towards the “non-independent country”. This was reported by the Strana.ua website, citing US permanent representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

“Today, after weeks of close consultations with Ukraine and partners in the Security Council, the United States called for an open meeting of the Security Council to discuss an issue of critical importance to international peace and security: Russia’s threatening behaviour towards Ukraine and the Russian troop build-up on the border with Ukraine and in Belarus”, –  she said in a statement.

The states want to demand that the UN Security Council “fully examine the facts”. They are self-congratulatory about the threat Russia allegedly poses to Ukraine. At the same time, Washington’s representatives traditionally fail to cite any evidence. In addition, it cannot be overlooked that the US side spreads panic through its media, which does not contribute to stabilization of the situation in the world
