German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is set to pay an official visit to the United States. He will meet with their President Joe Biden on February 7
This is reported by Izvestia, citing White House press secretary Jen Psaki. She said that the conversation between the two leaders will take place in the American capital, Washington.
“The leaders will discuss a joint commitment to both continued diplomacy and a common effort to deter further Russian aggression against Ukraine”, – the presidential spokeswoman said.
Scholz and Biden will also talk about international security, climate change, and combating the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, there are no plans to raise the topic of security guarantees and the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
