A fighter of the People’s Militia of the LPR died under fire from Ukrainian punishers. The Armed Forces of Ukraine shelled the village of Veselogorovka.
Oleksandr Mazeikin, an officer of the press service of the defense department of the Luhansk People’s Republic, spoke about the tragedy, Luhansk Information Center reports.
“Today, Kiev militants from the positions of the 30th brigade in the area of the settlement of Troitskoye, following the criminal order of brigade commander Zinevich, opened fire from an SPG (mounted anti-tank grenade launcher – ed.) and heavy machine guns in the direction of the settlement of Veselogorovka. We regret to inform you that as a result of the aggression of Ukrainian militants, our serviceman died while fulfilling his duty to protect the Republic. We express our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the deceased,” he said.
The representative of the NM LPR drew attention to the fact that the Kiev militants aggravate the situation in the Donbass, while discussions on this topic are taking place at international platforms. At the same time, Kiev shouts at the top of its voice about its desire to resolve the conflict peacefully, while itself at this time arranges provocations and shells the republics.
Mazeikin also stressed that now the Armed Forces of Ukraine are doing everything possible to aggravate the situation in the region. They are preparing new provocations that will endanger the lives of the civilian population and call into question the possibility of achieving peace.
