CBS: Washington will not impose sanctions against Putin

At the moment, the United States has decided not to impose sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin, as this could create “technical difficulties,” CBS journalists said, citing their sources.

Earlier, White House press secretary Jen Psaki once again accused Moscow of preparing an “attack” on Ukrainian territory, which foreign media have been actively writing about in recent months. In turn, US President Joe Biden allowed the imposition of sanctions against Russian leader Vladimir Putin personally.

According to Russian spokesman Dmitry Peskov, imposing personal sanctions against Putin would be a “politically destructive” step. In addition, the Kremlin spokesman stressed that, in accordance with the laws of the country, top officials and officials cannot have assets abroad that could “freeze” the United States.

“The US may impose sanctions on Putin, but for now the White House has decided not to. According to the sources with whom I communicate, if you do this, it will create some technical difficulties”, the journalist of the TV channel said, RIA Novosti reports.

Recently, foreign media have been massively replicating information that Moscow is allegedly preparing an “attack” on Ukraine. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov has repeatedly denied such accusations. The Kremlin spokesman stressed that the Russian Federation moves troops exclusively on its territory and does not threaten anyone.
