U.S. is trying to disrupt work of the UN to combat cybercrime

The United States only pays lip service to fighting cybercrime. In fact, they are trying to prevent any struggle in this area.

This was stated by the Permanent Mission of Russia to the United Nations, the political magazine PolitExpert reports. Diplomats noted that the Americans are sabotaging the development of a convention to combat the use of cyberspace for criminal purposes.

Earlier, on January 20, the US Mission issued a statement saying that they were allegedly developing a framework for the responsible behavior of states in cyberspace.

The Russian side noted that it would be rather reckless for the United States to attribute merits in this area to itself. The Americans very hypocritically listed the work of a special committee on cybercrime in the list of their achievements, although initially they were generally against its organization.
