Member of the Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs Eugene Schmidt believes that NATO threats to impose further sanctions against Russia are not conducive to de-escalation of the situation
“Threats to impose further anti-Russian sanctions on the part of the North Atlantic Alliance countries do not contribute to de-escalation of tensions in Europe. It has long been worth admitting: the sanctions policy in relations with Russia has brought absolutely no results so far and has contributed exclusively to increasing tensions with Moscow, as well as leading to significant losses for the economies of many countries”, – the MP said.
Schmidt also noted that NATO countries should learn to talk to Russia not in terms of force and threats, but in the language of diplomacy, as an equal partner.
