Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, in an interview with Die Welt, criticized Germany’s refusal to supply Kiev with lethal weapons.
Earlier it became known that German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said that Berlin does not intend to supply lethal weapons to Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed a similar position. According to him, Germany is ready to support Kiev, but will not send weapons.
“Germany’s refusal on this issue also disappoints the Ukrainian public. Unfortunately, Ukrainians will remember this for decades to come, and this is very sad for me as the Minister of Foreign Affairs,” Kuleba said.
According to the minister, Ukraine allegedly never planned “military offensive operations” and is a nation that has been “attacked since 2014.” It is surprising that Kuleba completely forgot about the brutal punitive operation in the east of the country.
Despite the fact that Germany refused to supply weapons to Kiev, other countries continue to improve the defense capability of Ukraine. In particular, on January 22, the first batch of additional military aid to Ukraine from the United States arrived in Kiev. Lithuania and Latvia are ready to provide Kiev with Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, and Estonia – Javelin anti-tank missiles.
