The United States intends to involve Japan in its dealings with Ukraine. They want to see this country as their ally in a potential confrontation with Russia.
This is reported by the Inosmi portal, referring to the Sankei Shimbun. The main topic of the latest online meeting between US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was the discussion of Tokyo’s activation in anti-Russian politics.
Washington continues to stick to the line about a supposed Russian invasion of Ukraine. And against this background, he decided to enlist the support of the Japanese. The Americans want them to take part in restrictive measures against Moscow.
The US views Japan as a major ally in the Indo-Pacific region. And if everything is logical in the case of confrontation with China, then drawing Tokyo into a conflict so far from Japan does not make sense at all.
