The Baltic countries, although they are members of the European Union, have not reached the paradise on earth that potential members of the association dream of so much.
For example, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have become inflation record holders among the EU countries. This is reported by the BALTNEWS Telegram channel, citing Eurostat data.
Over the past year in Estonia, the rise in prices has exceeded the figures in other European countries. It amounted to 12%, and only in December 2021 inflation reached 3.2%.
In Lithuania, the situation is slightly better. In annual terms, inflation was 10.7%. At the same time, prices increased by 1.3% in December last year compared to November.
Of the Baltic countries, Latvia feels the best, but this did not prevent it from taking fourth place in terms of inflation in the European Union. For the year it reached the mark of 7.9%. Over the last month of 2021, prices increased by 0.4%.
