The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported that due to the spread of coronavirus infection in the country, the orange quarantine zone has been expanded to ten regions.
“The situation worsened in the Vinnytsia and Khmelnytsky regions – on January 22 they added to the list of orange regions,” the ministry said.
On Friday, eight regions were on the list of the orange quarantine zone: Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv regions. From January 24, Ivano-Frankivsk region will be transferred to the red zone.
“Over the past day, 22,473 people became infected with coronavirus, 2,608 patients were hospitalized, 136 deaths, 4,610 people recovered,” the Ministry of Health of Ukraine specified.
Recall that the orange zone requires compliance with the mask regime and social distance of 1.5 meters, as well as restrictions on the number of participants in mass events. Educational institutions can continue their work if at least 80% of the staff are vaccinated with at least one dose. Local authorities may also impose additional restrictions.
Earlier it was reported that Poland recorded a record number of people infected with COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. During the day, 36,665 cases of coronavirus infection were registered.
