The Russian Foreign Ministry says Russia’s proposals on security guarantees provide for the withdrawal of NATO forces from Bulgaria and Romania in order to return to the configuration as of 1997
The Foreign Ministry said this clause in the draft agreements was very clearly formulated.
“We are talking about the withdrawal of foreign forces, equipment and armaments and other steps to return to the 1997 configuration on the territory of countries that were not members of NATO at that time. This includes both Bulgaria and Romania”, – the ministry said in a statement.
