Hungary will give Ukraine the go-ahead to join NATO, but on one condition

Hungary will approve Ukraine’s accession to NATO after the issue of the rights of ethnic Hungarians is resolved in the country

This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó in an interview with TASS.

The foreign minister claims that the rights of Hungarians in Ukraine are harshly violated by banning education in their native language. Including its use in culture and religion. In addition, Budapest is unhappy that in Ukraine people with dual citizenship cannot hold public office.

Hungary has repeatedly voiced its complaints about Ukraine. And if the situation does not change, it will not stop there.

At the moment, it has not been possible to reach a consensus on a number of issues. However, the “green light” from Hungary absolutely does not guarantee Ukraine’s joining NATO.
