US State Secretary accuses Russia of trying to include Ukraine in its sphere of influence

Russia’s actions towards Ukraine could lead to chaos in international relations, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in an interview with Crooked Media on the eve of his visit to Kiev.

“One country – Russia – says by its actions that it can change the borders of its neighbor by force, believes that it can decide for the neighboring country with whom it should establish ties, instead of its people and the government elected by it. This state says it’s okay to have a sphere of influence. And if we let such behavior go unpunished, then in my opinion, we will open a Pandora’s box,” Blinken said.

It is noteworthy that the head of American diplomacy made this comment just before flying to Ukraine, where he will meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba. However, according to experts, Blinken’s visit to Kiev does not bode well against the backdrop of Russia’s not entirely successful negotiations with the US and NATO.

Recently, the Western media have repeatedly stated about the possible “invasion” of Russia on Ukrainian territory. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov stressed that Moscow is moving troops exclusively on its territory and does not threaten anyone.
