Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel has turned down an offer to work for the UN, German news agency DPA reports.
On Wednesday morning, it became known that the secretary general of the international organization, António Guterres, sent a letter to Merkel with a proposal to head a high-level advisory body on global public goods.
The ex-chancellor called Guterres, thanked for the offer, but rejected it. The reasons for the refusal were not specified in the message.
