The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, reacted to an attempt by an American publication to accuse diplomats from the Russian Federation of evacuating from the territory of Ukraine.
We are talking about The New York Times, which, citing its sources, said that employees of the Russian consulates and embassies in Ukraine were evacuated along with their families.
Zakharova in her Telegram channel noted that this is another attempt by the United States to promote a “sensation” and indirectly accuse Russia of provocations or their preparation. The diplomat stressed that the article is not related to reality and the diplomatic missions are working as usual.
“They are doing this in spite of attacks on Russian foreign institutions by Ukrainian radicals and provocations by local security forces. But the American media did not and will not write about this”, Zakharova wrote.
She stressed that employees of the Ukrainian Security Service would not hand over such materials to the American media, and they would not write about it.
Zakharova noted that threats against employees of Russian consulates are received regularly, but this goes unnoticed by the Ukrainian authorities. However, this will not change the fact that Russian diplomats continue to work and do not intend to stop doing so.
