German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Berlin would not supply lethal weapons to Kiev, RIA Novosti reports.
“The federal government has been pursuing a universal strategy on this issue for many years, and this means that we do not supply lethal weapons. Nothing has changed here with the change of government in December,” Scholz said at a press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
Earlier, Ukrainian Ambassador to Berlin Andriy Melnyk said that German politicians do not take into account the interests of Kiev. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov even said that the country needs more weapons than Western “partners” provide.
British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said that the London authorities would not send British troops to help Ukraine under any circumstances.
