Ukrainians complain about high gas prices

Mayor of Shostka in Sumy region of Ukraine Mykola Noga complained about the “crazy” cost of gas in the country

He also believes that this year’s heating season in the city is very difficult.

“Heating season is extremely difficult, the price of gas is crazy… Tariffs have remained the same, but additional charges for transportation, heating have been introduced. And this worries people”, –  the Ukrainian mayor complained.

We shall remind you that in autumn 2021, the energy crisis broke out in the country because of the shortage of fuel required, in particular, for electricity generation. Among other things, this was due to a sharp increase in gas prices, as well as a shortage of coal, which caused more than half of the Ukrainian thermal power plants to stop.

According to Democracy House analyst Anatoliy Oktysyuk, the key threat to Ukrainians this year will be an energy crisis, which will exacerbate other problems and lead to protests.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine may be left without bread, as bakeries did not receive subsidized gas
