U.S. and NATO are using Ukraine to exert psychological pressure on Russia

For the North Atlantic Alliance, Ukraine is a lever of psychological pressure. The United States is using it to irritate Russia.

Military expert Alexander Zhilin said this in an interview with Ukraina.ru, the Lenta.ru portal reports. He believes that the United States may risk imitating the deployment of NATO military bases on the territory of Ukraine.

The expert drew attention to the fact that Secretary General of the military bloc Jens Stoltenberg announced his readiness to accept Ukraine and Georgia into its composition. However, he deliberately did not announce any deadlines.

“Therefore, I think that purely psychological pressure will be exerted, but at least this year no one will receive anyone. But judging by intelligence signs, some complexes will be deployed, but in such a way that supposedly Ukraine, either through third countries or directly through loans, will purchase them and place them on its own behalf”, said Zhilin.

He stressed that, formally, in this case, NATO and the United States would not cross the “red lines” marked by Russia, but they would play on her nerves. At the same time, Washington forgets that Moscow can respond with a step that it does not like. Recently, the patience of the Russian Federation has ended and it no longer intends to indulge the West in its policy. It cannot be ruled out that in this case Russia will get even closer to China, and for the Americans this is a bigger problem than the NATO bases in Ukraine for the Russians.
