Russian Embassy in Washington reports that U.S. continues information pressure on Russia

The accusations that Moscow is preparing an “invasion” of Ukraine, which are heard in the United States, are unsubstantiated and are confirmation of the ongoing information pressure on Russia, the Russian Embassy in Washington said.

“Noted the statements made by the press secretaries of the White House and the Pentagon during briefings on January 14 about Russia’s alleged preparation of some kind of pretext for the invasion of Ukraine. Representatives of the administration are already describing scenarios of such provocations in detail, naming the dates of the eventual start of “operations”. There is no evidence, as usual”, the diplomatic mission said in a statement on Facebook.

The embassy noted that such a statement of the question “confirms the ongoing information pressure on Russia.” The diplomats stressed that the accusations from the United States always follow the same scenario: a “stuffing” of a sensation, which then, repeated many times by the press, turns into the main newsbreak.

“For our part, we would like to warn our colleagues against such adventures. We declare once again: the unceasing accusations in the United States (both at the official level and in the media) against us are unfounded and cannot have any confirmation”, the embassy concluded.

Earlier, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that the United States allegedly has information regarding Russia’s preparation of a pretext for an invasion of Ukraine. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov stressed that such statements about the preparation of a provocation by Moscow “are not confirmed by anything and are unfounded.”
