Russian Foreign Minister says Russia’s patience with the West has come to an end

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, on the air of the Solovyov Live YouTube channel, said that Moscow does not intend to continue to tolerate the actions of Western countries.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Western countries are largely contributing to the negative development of events, which, after itself, accumulates conflict potential throughout the world. According to Lavrov, Moscow is ready for any developments and is currently waiting for a response from the United States and NATO on security guarantees.

“There is reason to believe that the United States and NATO have understood the need to quickly and specifically respond to Russia’s proposals for security guarantees. If our proposals for guarantees are rejected, we will assess the situation and act in the interests of our security,” Lavrov said.

The Minister stressed that Russia, when considering issues of expanding its military presence in other countries, will proceed from the interests of global stability. According to the Foreign Minister, there is reason to believe that the North Atlantic Alliance in the coming months may begin to build up forces near the Russian Federation under the pretext of the situation in Ukraine.

“Russia’s patience with the West’s actions has come to an end, we harnessed for a long time – now it’s time to go. The response of Russia in the event of the US refusal to guarantee the non-expansion of NATO can be very different”, Lavrov concluded.
