State Department spokesman Ned Price has said that the USA expects Russia to explain the situation with military exercises in the western part of the country or simply to stop them completely as part of the de-escalation of the situation around Ukraine
“We believe that de-escalation would then involve the return of Russian troops to their barracks, clarification about these manoeuvres or ending them, and the return of heavy weapons to their storage sites”, – Price said.
Earlier it became known that Russia had started new military exercises in the Voronezh, Belgorod, Bryansk and Smolensk regions involving 3,000 troops
