NATO wants to open an office in Moscow

North Atlantic Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said they are ready to reopen the mission in Moscow because the alliance needs dialogue with Russia

“We have announced that we are ready to re-open, to re-establish the NATO representation in Moscow, as well as the Russian mission to NATO, because we believe in dialogue. We believe that these representations are part of the infrastructure by which we can have a fruitful dialogue”, –  the secretary-general said after the NATO-Russia Council meeting.

Recall that talks on security assurances are taking place in three stages: Russian and US delegations met in Geneva on 10 January. A meeting of the NATO-Russia Council was held in Brussels on January 12, and consultations at the Vienna venue of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe are scheduled for January 13.
