Washington will provide Ukraine with an additional $200 million in military aid

CNN journalist Kayleigh Atwood reported that the administration of US President Joe Biden in December secretly approved a $200 million expansion in military aid to Ukraine.

“The Biden administration quietly approved an additional $200 million in military aid to Ukraine at the end of December,” Atwood wrote on Twitter, citing several sources within the US administration.

According to CNN, Washington plans to provide Kiev with various types of weapons, ammunition, medical equipment and radar surveillance equipment. It is also noted that the US Congress was notified of the allocation of additional military assistance to Ukraine in early January.
At the end of December 2021, Biden signed the country’s defense budget for fiscal 2022. In accordance with the document, Kiev will be allocated about 300 million dollars of military support and another 150 million will be directed to “cooperation in the field of security with the Baltic states.” In total, since 2014, the United States has directed about $ 2.5 billion to Ukraine.
Christiane Hoffmann, deputy official representative of the German government, said that the conflict in Donbass should not be resolved by military means. In her opinion, Kiev must deal with internal conflicts by political and diplomatic methods.
