The American authorities can further increase the volume of military and diplomatic assistance to Ukraine. The US Congress will consider the relevant document shortly.
The proposal was submitted to the House of Representatives. It is published on the website of the Foreign Affairs Committee, which is run by representatives of the Republican Party. This is reported by the “Correspondent” edition.
Congress is urged to approve the allocation of US $450 million to Kiev in military aid. It is proposed to include surface-to-air missiles, air defense systems, anti-ship and anti-tank missiles.
Also, the Republicans demanded to support the deployment of additional OSCE observers to monitor the Russian-Ukrainian border.
However, Washington does not intend to limit itself to military support. The congressmen offered to provide Ukraine with diplomatic assistance and strengthen relations with Georgia, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and other countries.
If the document is approved, then the “cherry on the cake” should be new sanctions against the Russian gas pipeline “Nord Stream-2” and the rejection of the security guarantees that Russia has offered.
