Political scientist explains why Germany will benefit from the agreements between Russia and the United States

It will be very beneficial for Germany if Russia and the United States can agree on security guarantees in Europe.

Political scientist and journalist Alexander Sosnovsky explained why Berlin will be the first to benefit from the consensus between Moscow and Washington in strategic security negotiations. This is reported by the portal “Foreign Economic Relations”.

Sosnovsky noted that the first plus of such a development of the event will be that the problem of the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream-2 will be removed from the agenda. In addition, it will allow Germany to regain its position as the most important link between the Western world and Russia.

The talks on security guarantees kicked off yesterday, January 10. The Russian and American delegations discussed them in Geneva. Tomorrow, January 12, a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council will take place, and a day later the Russians will discuss security in Europe with the OSCE.
