Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova, Minister of Infrastructure Andrei Spinu said that Chisinau is considering the possibility of increasing tariffs for blue fuel for the population in order to be able to timely pay with Gazprom, writes RIA Novosti.
According to Spinu, at the moment Moldova is faced with the next stage of the energy crisis, as in December the purchase price of gas was equal to 450 dollars per thousand cubic meters, and in January it was 646 dollars for the same volume.
Moldovagaz must find a way out to pay for gas in December, as far as I know, this will happen before the end of this week. You also need to pay in advance for the first half of January, a part will also be transferred before the end of this week. “Moldovagaz” is considering the possibility of increasing the tariff in order to pay off with “Gazprom” on time, the Deputy Prime Minister said during the briefing.
At the end of October, Moldova and Russia’s Gazprom, after lengthy negotiations, extended the contract for the supply of blue fuel for a period of five years. Gazprom stressed that the terms of cooperation are extremely beneficial for the Moldovan side, since the cost of gas in European markets continues to set historical records. Earlier it was reported that the price of blue fuel exceeded $ 2,100 per thousand cubic meters.
