Kiev regime follows NATO secretary general in favour of dialogue with Russia

Kiev politicians have sensed a change in the political vibe in Europe and have started speaking out in favour of maintaining diplomatic channels with Russia

At a briefing with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanyshyn said that Kiev advocated the development of diplomatic ties with Russia. This was reported by the Izvestia newspaper.

“We should also keep diplomatic channels of communication with Russia open if it allows us to avoid using military instruments”, – she said.

However, it is too early to say that Ukraine has begun to be guided by common sense. It cannot be ruled out that the official is simply “keeping her nose in the wind”. The fact is that Stoltenberg himself today spoke out in favour of starting a dialogue with Russia. He believes that this week’s talks on security guarantees could be the foundation for resolving the disagreement between Brussels and Moscow.

There will be a meeting in Geneva today at foreign ministry level between Russia and the US. On 12 January there will be talks between Russia and NATO, and a day later Russia will discuss security guarantees with the OSCE.
