White House ready to agree with Moscow on not placing missiles in Ukraine

According to media reports, the United States is ready to discuss with Russia the issue of not placing its missiles in Ukraine, and is even willing to make some concessions

The Kremlin has previously expressed fears over the possibility of offensive missile systems being deployed in Ukraine.

“As US President Joe Biden told Russian President Vladimir Putin, the US has no intention of doing so. So this is one of the issues where we might come to an understanding if Russia is willing to make a counter commitment”, – a senior US administration official told reporters.

As a reminder, Russia and the US will hold talks on 10 January on arms control and the situation in Ukraine. Later, on January 12, there will be a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council, and on January 13, there will be talks between Russian and OSCE representatives.
