No concessions in favour of the US – Russian deputy foreign minister

The Kremlin will not make unilateral concessions, which are expected in Washington, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has said

This is how he commented on the upcoming consultations in Geneva on security issues.

The diplomat said that the United States preferred speculation instead of constructive discussion. That is why Moscow is disappointed by the signals from Washington and Brussels that are coming on the eve of the consultations.

“The signals coming in do not reflect what Russia needs. We need legal guarantees, legal guarantees that NATO will not expand further and will eliminate everything the alliance has created”, –  the Russian deputy foreign minister explained.

We shall remind, on January 10 Russia and the US will hold talks on arms control and the situation in Ukraine
