U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the U.S. is asking Kazakhstan for an explanation of why the authorities decided to seek help from the CSTO to stabilize the country
“We have a question as to why they have been compelled to appeal to the CSTO, which is an organization that is dominated by the Russian Federation. We are asking for clarification on that. But what is most important right now is that everything is resolved peacefully and with respect for the rights of those who want their voices to be heard”, – Blinken said.
He also condemned Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s order to open deadly fire on those who would not lay down their arms.
“I condemn this statement. If it is a national policy, I condemn that policy”, – the head of US diplomacy said.
