CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas reported on the situation in Kazakhstan after the introduction of the CSTO peacekeeping forces into the country, stating that there is “a turning point for the better.”
According to the secretary general, the situation in the republic remains difficult, but it is already possible to draw some conclusions based on the events that took place in the afternoon of January 6.
“A definite change is already being observed, for the better. And in the end, as we hope, this tendency will strengthen”, Zas emphasized.
The Secretary General expressed hope that the situation has changed for the better after the introduction of the CSTO peacekeeping forces into the country.
“I would like to think that with the help of the CSTO as well. But now the Kazakh forces are coping there. It is hard for them, of course, so we need to help”, he added.
Recall that a state of emergency was introduced on the territory of all Kazakhstan against the background of riots. The CSTO Collective Security Council decided to send peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan.
