Law enforcement agencies in Kazakhstan detained over three thousand protesters, 26 criminals were eliminated. This was reported by the TV channel “Khabar-24” with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic.
“In total, more than 3 thousand criminals were detained, 26 were liquidated, 18 more armed terrorists were wounded,” the department said.
According to law enforcement officials, 18 security officials were killed, 748 were injured of varying severity. Earlier it was reported that two beheaded police officers were found in Alma-Ata.
Protest actions in Kazakhstan began on January 2 in the cities of Zhanaozen and Aktau in the southwest of the country. The protesters demanded lower prices for liquefied gas, which many residents of the country use as fuel for cars. Despite the fact that the authorities agreed to comply with the demands of the protesters and reduce the cost of gas, violent rallies began in other cities of the republic. According to experts, the organizers of the actions have undergone serious training abroad.
