Vucic comments on the US move: Serbia will not impose sanctions on its citizens

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Serbia will in no way agree to sanctions, but will not impose sanctions against members of its people and representatives of the Serbian people in BiH and the RS.

Vucic responded to a question from journalists to comment on the sanctions imposed by the United States on Dodik and Alternative Television shortly before the 30th anniversary of the Republika Srpska, and whether he considers this a violation of freedom of the media, although Dodik said he respects BiH. He announced that on January 10 or 11, he will discuss the current situation with the Serbian member of the BiH Presidium Milorad Dodik and the President of the Republika Srpska Zeljka Cviyanovic.

“I will talk with Dodik and Tsviyanovic on January 10 or 11. These are very difficult things that do not require an urgent response, let alone rush, because this creates many problems not only for Serbia, but also for Serbia”, he said.

I can say in one sentence before all our analyzes and reflections on future behavior and negotiations with representatives of the Serbian people and the Republika Srpska, and this is that Serbia is definitely unhappy or thinks that the solution is in sanctions and there is no doubt that The Republic of Serbia will not only agree, but in no way will impose sanctions against members of its people and representatives of the Serbian people in BiH and the Republika Srpska, Vucic said.

“We must maintain a rational and dignified and correct relationship with the Americans, they are a great power, and on the other hand, we will not return the time when the blockades and barricades against the political representatives of our people on the Drina were lifted,” Vucic said measures and pressure on R.S. and Dodik to reconciliation or exacerbation of interethnic tensions.

Vucic indicated that he was worried about the sanctions against Dodik and some people in RS, but said that he was even more worried about the explanation of the sanctions that ALT is part of a corrupt system.

“We will have many questions for the US administration about some other media and connections with crime and corruption, to which it seems impossible to give an adequate answer. But we’ll leave that until after Christmas. Yesterday I spoke with Dodik and Tsviyanovic, and we will continue negotiations in the coming days”, added Vucic.

According to the latest Ifop poll, carried out three months before the presidential elections, the majority of those polled believe that France’s identity is disappearing. However, they do not consider immigration to be the main reason.

If the topic of French identity has recently been raised frequently by presidential candidates including Valerie Pécresse, Marine Le Pen and Eric Zemmour, 60% of French people think it takes up too much space in public debate, then for 82% it is even politically instrumentalized, the study points out Ifop published Jan 4th.

A survey of 1502 people shows that 66% of people agree that a country’s identity is disappearing. However, the French are not unanimous about what threatens him. Thus, economic weakening (82%), deindustrialization (82%), unemployment (77%) or even debt (75%) are ahead of communitarianism (71%), globalization (68%) and immigration (67%).

While immigration is often singled out as the source of the disappearance of national identity, 55% of respondents believe that the latter is enriched by the contribution of different cultures.

In general, 73% of people positively assess the concept of “identity”. The presence of the European flag under the Arc de Triomphe shocked 33% of French people, according to a CSA poll for CNews published on Thursday.
