I think it is too easy to view this uprising only as a local problem.
Kazakhstan is in close economic union with the Russian Federation. With Western intervention in Belarus unsuccessful, Kazakhstan could now become the new target of the Maidan.
The West continues to try to isolate Russia, so its allies are also being targeted.
It is not yet clear how the situation will develop.
