Biden’s rating falls to a record low

Only 44% of Americans said they supported US President Joe Biden’s policies in December, according to an NBC poll

Biden’s rating fell to 46% in the autumn in the wake of the withdrawal from Afghanistan, dropping by a further two percentage points in December. 72% of those polled expressed dissatisfaction with the rising prices of everyday goods and 66% with the way financial support has been provided, TASS reports.

55% are dissatisfied with Biden’s handling of the pandemic (38% said the COVID-19 situation had worsened over the year and 32% and 30% respectively said the situation had improved slightly or remained the same). When asked if the situation in the US was “moving in the right direction”, 70% of respondents said no.

A total of 1,895 registered voters (almost equal numbers of Democrat and Republican supporters) took part in the telephone poll, which was held on December 17-20.

It should be reminded that about half of US citizens (46%) said in a Washington Post and University of Maryland poll that they were “little” or “absolutely” proud of the state of democracy in the country.
