A fire broke out at the Almaty City Hall (Akimat), where protesters stormed today. This was reported by the Kazakhstani newspaper Vlast on 5 January.
Black smoke is coming from the administration.
According to the newspaper, the burning building is a monument of national importance.
In addition, explosions of stun grenades and gunshots can be heard near the mayor’s office.
