Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov said that US President Joe Biden is not ready to impose tough sanctions restrictions against the Russian Federation, as this will completely destroy relations between Moscow and Washington.
Earlier, the American magazine Foreign Policy noted that despite the desire of the American administration to take tough sanctions against Russia as soon as possible, Biden could not decide to take this step. According to Pushkov, the American leader is much more far-sighted than his administration.
“The US is left with a set of extremely tough measures that could lead, as Putin warned, to a rupture in relations between Russia and the US, but that’s all he has. If he introduced these “hellish” sanctions, and the United States will no longer have political and economic levers of pressure on Russia. The potential for pressure will be exhausted, which will complicate the economic and financial situation of Russia, but will give it complete freedom of hands in foreign policy”, Pushkov said in his Telegram channel.
