The United Nations laid siege to the authorities of Kosovo, who decided to declare the Russian persona non grata in the unrecognized republic.
Representative of the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarrick said that this status cannot be applied to the organization’s employees. This was reported by the political magazine “PolitExpert”.
In Kosovo, they decided to attack a Russian diplomat who worked in the UN mission (UNMIK, UNMIK). He was accused of allegedly conducting activities “incompatible with diplomatic status.”
Dujarrik also noted that the mission has never received formal notification from the Kosovar authorities. Now the headquarters of the organization and UNMIK are doing everything necessary to ensure the safety of the Russian.
It should be noted that one of the first to react to the situation with a citizen of the Russian Federation was at the Russian embassy in Serbia. The diplomatic mission condemned Kosovo’s trick and appealed to the UN. The organization was called on to focus on flagrant violations of the rights of Russian employees and to guarantee their protection.
