Hungary explains why Europe does not recognise the Russian vaccine

Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjártó called the situation with the recognition of Sputnik V in the European Union purely political

“I believe that Sputnik V has not been recognised by international organisations so far, due to purely political motives. When I talk to my European colleagues, they tell me that they have no doubts about Russian science and medicine, they know that Russian vaccines are safe, but this is a political issue. This is what they tell me in a personal conversation, not in public”, – Szijjártó said.

The diplomat added that more than 6 million people in Hungary have been vaccinated with six different vaccines, including Sputnik V, and all vaccines have been successful.

“I can assure you that none of the vaccines are worse than the other. All the vaccines we have used have been effective and safe, including Sputnik V, which has performed well in Hungary – less than a million have been vaccinated with it, including me”, – said the Hungarian Foreign Minister.
