The European Union is clearly not in the mood to take any action that could reduce tensions in the region and improve relations with Russia.
This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova during a briefing on December 30, Izvestia reports. She noted that Brussels has assigned Moscow the role of “aggressor” and refuses to change its approach to relations with our country.
“The European Union, to the accompaniment of groundless accusations, has fixed our country in its doctrinal principles as a strategic challenge and perhaps the main source of some hybrid threats to the security of the European Union,” Zakharova said.
She drew attention to the fact that if the EU really wanted to de-escalate the situation in the region and build normal ties with Russia that would be beneficial to both sides, it would take some effective steps. However, everything suggests that the RF-EU line does not bother anyone in Brussels. Instead, Europeans prefer to be a tool in American hands.
